"Rafflesia Arnoldii" (Leon Theremin)

The theremin is an early electronic musical instruments completely controlled without any physical contact by the musician.
Its name comes from the Western version of the name of its inventor, Léon Theremin Russian, who patented his device in 1928. The instrument is managed through two metal antennas which realize the position musician hands and control oscillators for frequency with one hand, and with the other the amplitude (volume), so that you do not need to touch the instrument. The electrical signals from the theremin are amplified and sent to a loudspeaker.

About the name:
Rafflesia is the common name given to the parasitic plants of the genus Rafflesia, the family of rafflesiáceas occurring in the jungles of Borneo, Sumatra, Kalimantan and other parts of Indonesia, and in Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand. The genus Rafflesia was first described in 1819 by Robert Brown and contains 15-19 species, including four species whose taxonomy is poorly known and some apparently extinct. It has its confined to Southeast Asia and nearby islands distribution.
