about

Absinthe (Artemisia absinthium), also known as losna or sintro, is a plant of the Asteraceae family.
Story:
In Ancient Greece, this plant was dedicated to the goddess Artemis (Diana, among the Romans, goddess of hunting and chastity). Hence the origin of its scientific name.
It is an herb from Europe and Asia, with leaves cut out of gray color, bitter taste and used as a medicinal plant and in the manufacture of the drink known as absinthe.
Absinth contains small amounts of tujone, which was once thought to be related to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), but is now known to be a GABA-A receptor antagonist. Excessive consumption of thujone can cause spasms and convulsions.
..................................................

Artemisia Gentileschi (Rome, July 8, 1593 - Naples, 1656) was an Italian painter.
The oldest daughter of the Tuscan painter Orazio Gentileschi, she was one of the only women to be mentioned in the artistic baroque painting, being the first to have a privileged position. She dedicated herself to tragic themes in which her female characters play roles of heroines. She avoided the dead natures and flowers, common to the artists of the time.
According to Susan Vreeland's version, in her novel about Artemisia Gentileschi, the young painter was raped at the age of 17 by Agostino Tassi, an aide to her father's studio. At his trial they torture her to judge the verity of her version. Unable to stay in Rome, a marriage of convenience was arranged. She separated after ten years and departed for Florence, where she discovered an exciting life in the art world in seventeenth-century Italy, and with the increasing success of her works she became the first woman to enter the Academy of Art of Florence.
In modern times she gained new fame as a feminine heroine.
